First of all -- Why Chinese and Ayurvedic Herbalism?
I chose Chinese/Ayurvedic Medical Herbalism based on years of work with plants, study of energy meridians, reflexology, and chakra balancing. I was deeply impressed with the thousands of years of research both China and East India had devoted to herbal medicine, the wisdom in their devotion to balance of yin and yang, or tridoshas; their vast knowledge of plants and their uses and the precision in their herb formula methodology.
The East West School of Planetary Herbalogy had decades of training in Chinese and Ayurvedic herbal practices, their formulas and diagnostic methods, but also had great knowledge of western Native American and western cultural herbs and formulas. This solid base of information led me to select this schooling/training. To this day, my initial impressions have remained and grown more solid.
In my herbal practice I continue to be awed by the effectiveness of plants to help the body re-balance yin and yang, move energy, support the body's natural, continuous ways of working to rid itself of harmful substances, nourish blood and cells, calm the heart, help the system address the varying causes of memory loss and need for nourishment, or transform mucus, soften sugar imbalances, and improve ones sense of well-being. I have now worked with and treated over 400 clients with many types of issues. . I have continued to see the usefulness and effectiveness of herbal teas. I urge you to consider a consult to learn more about what herbs can do for you when used in Chinese and Ayurvedic teas. Nameste.
